Windische Höhe | 1110 METER | Feistritz an der Drau Pörtschach
The Windische Höhe, at 1,110 metres, is an Alpine pass in southern Carinthia. The route crosses the eastern foothills of the Gailtal Alps and links the Lower Drau Valley with the Gail Valley.
The route is certainly a pleasure to ride. There are some lovely combinations of bends and stunning views. There are also a few sections with gradients of up to 18 degrees. The road surface is poor in places.
Tip: A motorbike tour in this region can easily be combined with visits to Kreuzbergsattel, Nassfeld Pass and Weißensee.
There is also a TV feature (German only) on the region. This includes plenty of tips and ideas on food and culture.
