Alpen-Marathon TV reports – 30 minutes of entertainment with tour tips
Col de la Platrière | 2220 M – unterhalb der Südrampe des Col de l'Izoard.
Der Col de la Platrière | 2220 Meter, ist ein Alpenpass, den kaum jemand kennt oder wahrnimmt. Er liegt an der Südrampe des Col de l'Izoard, etwa 2,5 Kilometer unterhalb der Passhöhe.
Die Strecke bis dahin gleicht eine bizarren Mondlandschaft. Die Straße weist links wie rechts Abhang oder tiefe Wasserrinnen auf. Nach den 2,5 Kilometern steigt die Straße kurz an. In der darauffolgenden Linkskurve liegt ein kleiner Parkplatz mit Sitzbank und, nur bei genauerem Hinschauen zu erkennen, einem Passschild.
Hier lohnt ein Stopp. Denn von dem Parkplatz aus hat man einen grandiosen Blick zurück auf den Col de l'Izoard. Dazwischen liegt die “Casse déserte”, die "verlassene Region".
Auch kurios: Mit der Passhöhe wechselt die Mondlandschaft schlagartig in dicht bewaldetes Gebiet.

Motorcycle tours in the most beautiful regions of the Alps – discovery tours in the heart of Europe! The ‘Alpen-Marathon 7|6|50’ adventure turned into passion, and passion turned into a life’s work. We now produce 30-minute TV reports in which we present the alpine passes of the regions, visit places of interest and meet interesting local people – and every now and then we also try the local cuisine, as in the Slovenia reports or in 2024 in the two parts about the motorcycle pleasure tours in Carinthia.
We have now produced a total of 12 TV reports and will be visiting more regions in the Alps this year... and beyond.
This is how the report on West Pomerania came about, for example. The incentive: in Poland, you can ride off-road a lot and ride one of the highest sand dunes in Europe. We also visited the coolest military vehicle collector in the world there.
