Windische Höhe | 1110 METER | Matschiedl Kreuzen
The Windische Höhe is a pass at 1110 metres above sea level, located on the border between the municipalities of St. Stefan and Paternion in Carinthia. This is where the districts of Villach-Land and Hermagor meet, which means that the village, although it consists of only three houses and a church, is divided between two districts. The Windische Höhe is also known for its location on the road connecting the Gailtal and Drautal valleys. The pass is also a popular excursion destination; from here, the summit of the Tschekelnock can be reached in two to three hours.
