Vorder Höhi | 1537 METER | Amden Starkenbach
The Vorder Höhi is the pass that connects Amden with Starkenbach in the Alps of the Swiss canton of St. Gallen. A 3rd class road starts at Vorderberg in the municipality of Amden at 1151 metres and motorised traffic is only allowed with a special permit. This route from the Walensee region to Toggenburg gained in importance at short notice in 1973/74 when access from Weesen to Amden was threatened by an impending rockfall. The pass summit at 1537 metres is located east of the Gulmen.
