Schwägalp | 1278 METER | Nesslau Urnäsch

The Schwägalp Pass is 1278 metres above sea level and is located in eastern Switzerland between Nesslau-Neu St. Johann in the Obertoggenburg region in the canton of St. Gallen and Urnäsch in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden. The pass is flanked by two mountains of unequal height: the Säntis to the east and the Hochalp to the west. Schwägalp is characterised by the many car parks and tourist facilities provided by the Säntis tourist office. Schwägalp itself is a popular destination for mountain bikers and motorcyclists, and a starting point for hikes and mountain tours in the Alpstein.
