Passo Pura | 1428 METER | Sauris di Sotto Ampezzo
A pass with relatively little traffic, which not only plays a role in the Giro d'Italia but has also become increasingly popular in the meantime. Especially in combination with a stay at Lago di Sauris. The road surface is now more than passable.
The route is winding, with a few hairpin bends, but overall it is not particularly demanding to cycle. There is a rifugio and restaurant at the top of the pass. The southern ramp is a little more appealing overall. On the one hand, because a series of hairpin bends await in the lower part, and on the other hand, because there are sections that offer magnificent views of the Tagliamento valley.
Tip: In the town square of Ampezzo, there are several typically Italian cafés and bars. There are plenty of parking spaces available.
