Oberaar Panoramastraße | 2303 METER | Grimselpass Oberaarsee
The name says it all. This mountain road really does offer breathtaking views of the Alps. For around 6 kilometres, you drive along a large, deep gorge in which the Grimselsee lake lies. The road begins at the last or first bend of the north ramp of the Grimsel Pass, not far from the north-western end of the Totensee lake. The journey from the Grimsel Pass to the Oberaarbahn mountain station is regulated by a traffic light system. The road is very narrow and winding and not for those who are afraid of heights, which is why it can only be driven in one direction at a time. The asphalt is in very good condition. Small bays offer opportunities to stop and enjoy the view.
In combination with the Grimsel Pass and the nearby Furka Pass, this area offers a wide variety of motorcycle tours.
