Grosse Scheidegg | 1962 METER | Grindelwald Meiringen

The Grosse Scheidegg is a pass connecting Grindelwald in the Schwarzen Lütschinen Valley with Meiringen in the Hasli Valley. The pass summit is located at 1,962 metres below the Wetterhorn. On the north side, the ridge ascends to the Schwarzhorn. Since 1979, there has been a continuous road connection across the pass. There is a regular service with the Grindelwald bus between Schwarzwaldalp and the upper Grindelwald glacier. Private car traffic is only permitted for residents and hotel guests with a permit. In contrast to Kleine Scheidegg, Grosse Scheidegg is lower, less developed and less visited.
