Forcella Lavardet | 1542 METER | Campolongo Comeglians
The Forcella Lavardet is a former connecting road between Campolongo in the north and Comeglians in the south-east. The ramp from the south-east, to or from Comeglians, is well paved and leads through the well-known ‘Valley of the Clocks’. The road forks at the apex – unfortunately there is no sign for the Forcella Lavardet. A gravel road turns off to the north towards Campolongo, and to the south, further up the ramp, the road leads to Sella di Razzo, and on to Sella di Ciampigotto and before that, again through a fork to Sella di Rioda (direction Sauris).
The ramp down towards Campolongo is largely gravelled and, depending on the weather, can have ruts in it. In the lower part of the route, there is a spectacular series of hairpin bends – but these are already asphalted.
The gravel road is not too difficult to ride under normal conditions. There are hardly any relevant gradients or bends to negotiate. The landscape of the foothills of the Dolomites to the west is impressive.
The route is currently closed until further notice (as of July 2024).
