Colle San Carlo | 1971 METER | Morgex La Thuile

Colle San Carlo is an Alpine pass in the Aosta Valley, with a pass height of 1,971 metres. It connects the Italian municipalities of Morgex and La Thuile.
The narrow pass road is rarely used for through traffic. As it runs almost parallel to the northern ramp of the Little Saint Bernard Pass from La Thuile in the south, it is a welcome alternative, especially on weekends and public holidays. Colle San Carlo also offers some beautiful combinations of bends and a varied route. Around 80 bends and hairpin bends, not all of which are challenging, lead over the pass. Despite its altitude of almost 2000 metres, Colle San Carlo also offers wooded areas at the top of the pass – an advantage that should not be underestimated on hot and sunny days.
There is a hotel and restaurant on the northern ramp, just after the top of the pass.
In good weather, you can see Mont Blanc from the top of the pass.
