Simplonpass | 2006 METER | Brig Domodossola

The Simplon Pass, or Simplon for short, is a road pass in the Valais Alps and is part of the main road 9. It is a third-class national road. At an altitude of 2005 metres, it connects the Rhône Valley in the Swiss canton of Valais with the Val d'Ossola in the Italian province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola and Lake Maggiore. On the south side, the glaciated Fletschhorn towers over the pass road.
