Passo Xon | 671 METER | Recoaro Terme Valli del Pasubio
The Passo Xon, at 671 metres, is a largely unknown alpine pass. It lies south-east of the well-known north-south route over the Passo Pian delle Fuggaze.
The Passo Xon connects the villages of Valli del Pasubio – the valley at the foot of the Passo Pian delle Fuggaze – and Recoaro Terme in the Valle dell’Agno. It thus provides an east-west link.
The 11-kilometre stretch between the two villages offers great cycling enjoyment, as the pass features several winding sections and challenging stretches. Apart from the summit, it runs mostly through dense woodland, which makes it particularly appealing on hot days.
Tip: In Recoaro Terme, the climb begins towards the Passo di Campogrosso, which was originally an Alpine pass running parallel to the Passo Pian delle Fugazze – very challenging but also charming and picturesque.
However, due to extreme weather conditions on the north-facing side, part of the route has since been destroyed and replaced by a footbridge. Consequently, the former route towards Rovereto has now become a side road leading to and from Recoaro Terme.
