Passo San Antonio | 1489 METER | Padola Santa Caterina

The Passo San Antonio is located in Venetia on the border to Friuli in the east. In the west, the ascent begins in the town of Santa Caterina, located on the Lago di Auronzo. The ramp has some very interesting corners in the middle section. The asphalt is good and the road width is suitable for any type of vehicle. The actual pass summit is on the way to Padola, which is located to the northeast – a direct connection to the north towards South Tyrol and Austria. However, the road is unspectacular.

Just below the pass summit, on the other hand, coming from Santa Caterina, a much more interesting route branches off – to Campitello. A route that can then continue towards Santo Stefano di Cadore and Compolongo (Forcella Lavardet turn-off) – into Friuli.

This ramp is the much more interesting route to drive. For one thing, it passes through the village of Danta, situated on a high valley with fantastic views (see picture), and for another, the lower half is again equipped with many beautiful curves.
