The Loibl Pass is an Alpine pass over the Karawank mountain range between Carinthia in Austria and the Slovenian region of Gorenjska. The road over the Loibl is the shortest connection between Ferlach and Tržič. It is located in the eastern Karawank mountain range, not far from the Hochstuhl. For centuries, the Loibl Pass was one of the most important crossings over the Karawank Mountains, but since the opening of the Karawank Tunnel, it has lost much of its importance. There is a ban on vehicles over 3.5 tonnes gross weight and vehicles towing caravans.
