Furkapass | 2436 METER | Hospental Ulrichen
The Furka Pass is a 2,436-metre-high Swiss road pass in the Alps. It connects the Urseren Valley (the upper valley of the Reuss) in the canton of Uri with the district of Goms in the canton of Valais. The road, which is almost 40 kilometres long and at least 4.20 metres wide, was built between 1864 and 1866, connecting Hospental to Oberwald. Today, the route is asphalted and closed to traffic from October to May.
