Crni Vrh nad Novaki | 1275 METER | Cerkno Zali Log
Črni Vrh means ‘Black Peak’ and there are quite a few of those in Slovenia. The slopes of this peak are home to the Cerkno ski resort. The ascent starts in Cerkno and runs along the Cerknica stream. In the lower part, there is a turnoff to a hidden partisan hospital from the Second World War, which has been proposed by Slovenia for UNESCO World Heritage status. At the top, there is a great view of the Julian Alps. The condition of the road is good for the most part; the asphalted road only stops shortly before the summit, and you have to be prepared for a natural road that is about one kilometre long, but it is not a problem in terms of driving technique.
