Col de Saint-Léger | 1070 METER | Saint-Leger Puget-Théniers
The Col de Saint-Léger is a low Alpine pass on the border of the Alpes-Maritimes and Provence. It connects the D2202, which leads through the Gorges de Daluis, with the village of Puget-Théniers. A pass that is not easy to drive in the western part. It begins with crossing the Var – the only signpost to help you find the turnoff. The bridge that crosses the Var is narrow and more like a pedestrian bridge (see picture).
That is why the route is probably indicated as being passable up to a maximum width of 2 metres. There is a driving ban on the entire western ramp when it is wet. The route is poorly asphalted, with some gravel and scree sections (as of: 6 | 2024).
On the eastern side, the connection between the village of Saint-Léger and the village of Puget-Théniers, the road is better developed and fully asphalted. However, there is also a warning here about the risk of slipping when it is wet. The reason for this is that dust or sand from the rocks lying on the road becomes extremely slippery when it is wet.
