Col de Montgenèvre | 1854 METER | Briançon Cesana Torinese

The Col de Montgenèvre is a  pass on the French-Italian border at an altitude of 1854 metres in the Cottian Alps. The border crossing to Italy is just under two kilometres east of the pass summit. The pass connects the upper Susa Valley in Piedmont with the French fortress town of Briançon in the Haute-Alpes.
The Italian side is a bit twisty but has wide roads. The French side, on the other hand, is much more interesting to drive. Many curves with different radii wind their way along the mountain. The road is also wide and well paved here – making it suitable for all types of vehicles up to 26 tonnes. The pass road is open all year round.
On the Italian side, the road branches off towards Sestriere and Susa. Via Sestriere, you can reach the Assietta-Kammstraße and the Colle delle Finestre and, of course, the Sestriere Pass.
