Col de Cornillon | 885 METER | Roissard Mens
The Col de Cornillon Alpine pass is located on a small road running parallel to the D1075 between Monestier-de-Clermont and Lalley (the road continues towards Sisteron in the south and Gap in the east). Coming from the north, leave the A51 at the Col du Fau (roundabout, the A51 becomes the D1075 here) and follow the country road towards Mens. Accordingly, the route from the south leads from Mens over the Col de Cornillon.
The route is not difficult to drive, but it is very scenic. It leads through maritime Alpine landscapes that can only be found on the western edge of the Alps. A special highlight on the route between the Col du Fau and the Col de Cornillon is the ‘Pont de Brion’ bridge, which crosses the L'Ebron. This is a single-lane, narrow and very old bridge over a gorge at the foot of the Ebron, which flows into the famous Lac de Monteynard-Avignonet.
The pass summit is rather inconspicuous. The landscape and the panorama to the south, on the other hand, are very picturesque. For motorbike tours in this part of the Alps, we recommend combining this pass with the Col de Mens, the Col du Fau and, above all, the Col de Noyer.
Just try out the Alpine Pass Atlas. It lists all the passable Alpine passes in this largely unknown region. Put together your motorbike tour and download the GPS data.
