Circuit de la découverte de l'Authion | 2026 METER | Col de Turini Col de Turini
From the Turini pass, a turnoff leads northeast to the Circuit de la découverte de l'Authion. The 18-kilometre-long, fully asphalted ring road leads to the highest accessible point of the Massif de l'Authion. The road passes through the Mercantour National Park.
There are numerous bunkers and old fortifications here. It was here that German soldiers were finally driven out of France during the Second World War, after two weeks of intense fighting. The wreck of an American tank along this ring road is one of the reminders of this.
The starting point of this road is the well-known alpine pass Col de Turini.
