The Arlberg is an important pass for traffic, with a height of 1,793 metres. It connects the Austrian federal states of Vorarlberg and Tyrol. Together with the Flexenpass, the Arlberg forms the boundary between the mountain groups: Verwall in the south, Lechquellengebirge in the northwest and the Lechtal Alps in the north and northeast. The Valluga, the highest mountain in the Arlberg and, together with the Trittkopf, the southwestern end of the Lechtal Alps, towers over the pass summit.
