If you choose the route to Col du Chaussy via Pontamafrey, you have to, or rather get to, drive over the Lacets de Montvernier. ‘Lacets’ means “lace” or, loosely translated, ‘hairpin bends’. This makes it clear that the road here is narrow and winding, and in places even steep. It's wonderful if you love curves.
