Valparolapass | 2192 METER | St. Kassian Passo di Falzarego
The Passo di Valparola (Valparola Pass) is an alpine pass in the Italian Alps in the province of Belluno near the border with South Tyrol. It lies at an altitude of 2,192 metres. At the top of the pass are Lake Valparola and the Forti Tre Sassi, a fortification from the First World War. The complex is now a museum and can be visited and explored.
Just a few kilometres to the south-east is the slightly lower Passo di Falzarego (Falzarego Pass, 2105 m).
The southern ascent is dead straight and hardly worth mentioning in terms of driving technique. The northern passage, on the other hand, has two beautiful combinations of curves and many impressive views of the valley.
