Učja-Pass | 707 METER | Zaga Uccea
The pass road, which is almost 10 kilometres long, connects the towns of Zaga in Slovenia and Uccea in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. On the Slovenian side, the road runs along rocky slopes, is densely forested, but occasionally offers magnificent views of the Carnic Alps and the river valley of the Učja river. The next pass is another 10 kilometres away: the Passo di Tanamea.
Both Alpine passes can be easily incorporated into a low-traffic tour that perhaps begins with the Vrsic Pass or, on the Austrian side, with the Wurzen Pass. After Tanamea, continue, for example, over the Sella Chiampon and on over the Passo Duron, Passo del Cason di Lanza and Nassfeld Pass, back to Austria.
