Saanenmöser | 1279 METER | Saanen Zweistimmen
Saanenmöser is a Swiss Alpine pass and village in the Saanenland region of the canton of Bern, and also a district of the municipality of Saanen. The main road 11, which connects Zweisimmen and Saanen, runs over the pass at an altitude of 1,279 metres, as does the Montreux-Bernese Oberland Railway, which has a 90-metre-long summit tunnel, the only noteworthy feature on this Alpine pass.
Similar to the Col du Pillon (in the extension towards the Rhône Valley), the road is more like a motorway. It is hardly winding, the pass summit is not recognisable, and is not even good enough for a pass sign. Only the place name sign ‘Saanenmöser’ indicates that the summit has been reached.
