Also known as the B99 Katschberg Road, the 38-kilometre pass connects the towns of Radstadt in Ennstal and Mauterndorf in Lungau. At the 1,793-metre-high crest lies the winter sports resort of Obertauern, which is why the pass road is open all year round. On the northern approach, there are gradients of up to 15 per cen.
