Planina Kuhinja | 1012 METER | Kobarid Koča na Planina Kuhinja

The Soca Valley offers plenty of attractions. Like the Napoleon Bridge, which crosses the most beautiful white-water river in Slovenia. You have to take this route if you want to get from Kobarid to Planina Kuhinja.
Koča na Planina Kuhinja is a hut on an alpine plateau, run by the Kobarid Alpine Club at an altitude of over 1000 metres. Affordable accommodation, as well as traditional food and drink, are included. Great views are included for free (see picture).
Even if the altitude of this cul-de-sac sounds unspectacular, it should be noted that the driveway begins at just over 200 metres. In the north in the village of Ladra and in the south in the village of Selišče. Both roads meet in the village of Vrsno. From there, you have to continue in the direction of Krn.
The road is narrow, and the asphalt is sometimes poor. Shortly before the alpine hut, you reach a large car park, which unfortunately is subject to a charge. Nevertheless, the ascent is worthwhile, as it allows you to escape the heat that sometimes prevails in the Soca Valley.
