Passo Ghimbegna | 896 METER | Bajardo Ceriana

The Passo Ghimbegna is located about 10 kilometres as the crow flies from San Remo, i.e. from the Riviera. It is a crossroads of four roads, two of which lead towards San Remo. Another leads east towards Badalucco, or then branches off to the north over the Monte Ceppo and on towards Colle Langan – and thus towards the Ligurian border ridge. The fourth road leads to Castel Vottorio.
At just under 900 metres, the Passo Ghimbegna is not a high alpine pass, but it still offers plenty of driving fun when coming from the south. From Ceriana, the route has no fewer than 17 bends, and, don't forget that the road comes from the sea, at almost 0 metres of altitude.
In addition, the hinterland along the Ligurian coast is extremely varied and mountainous.
Just above the alpine pass is the picturesque village of Bajardo (see picture). From here, the Ligurian border ridge, the area towards France, can be seen very beautifully. Which off-road driver has not heard of it?
