Passo della Borcola | 1250 METER | Piazza Posina

The Passo della Borcola, 1,250 metres, or Passo Borcola, is a pass of great scenic beauty in the Italian Pre-Alps. It links the Val Terragnolo in Trentino (Province of Trento) with the Val Posina in Veneto (Province of Vicenza). The route on the southern side, which is already part of the Veneto region, is extremely winding, featuring hairpin bends in places, and narrow. 
The route up the northern approach is winding but less challenging to drive. Nevertheless, it is particularly scenic.

In Piazza, the starting point on the northern approach, a turn-off leads up to Serrada and on to Vielgereuth (Folgada). Here too, in Serrada, there is a pass summit marked by a sign reading ‘Passo Borcola’ – a long way from the actual pass.
Don’t be misled if your sat-nav directs you there; head for the real pass instead. This one offers infinitely more driving pleasure and is also much less busy.
