Oberjochpass | 1178 METER | Bad Hindelang Schattwald
The Oberjochpass is a 1178-metre-high mountain pass in Germany, located in the southern part of Bavaria, only about 800 metres west of the border with Austria in the Allgäu Alps. The road over the Oberjochpass connects the valley of the Ostrach near Bad Hindelang, initially in the mountain village of Oberjoch with that of the Wertach and then with the valley of the Vils in the Tannheim valley near Schattwald. The pass road is a federal highway on both sides: on the German side the B 308, on the Austrian side the B 199. At the former border crossing, the B 308 becomes the B 199. The B 199 continues southeast through the Tannheim Valley and over the Gaichtpass into the Lechtal. The Oberjoch Pass not only provides access to Tyrol, but also a direct connection to the Wertach area and the Ostallgäu region. From Oberjoch, the B310 federal road leads via Unterjoch to Wertach and on to Füssen.
