Only partially asphalted and with a risk of falling rocks, the route, which leads over a total of five passes, includes sections without protective barriers. In terms of landscape, the pass is one of the highlights of the Lombardy Alps. The end of the pass is the Giogo del Maniva at 1664 metres.
