Colle Gallo | 763 METER | Albina Casazza

The Colle Gallo Alpine Pass, at 763 metres, is a smooth-riding but decidedly winding pre-Alpine pass. The eastern approach in particular features a number of tighter bends, though these are all within the village of Piano.
The Colle Gallo is well-surfaced and wide. Cyclists in particular appreciate this Alpine pass. At its summit stands the Santuario della Beata Vergine del Colle Gallo – built around 1690 following an apparition of the Virgin Mary. And the Madonna del Colle Gallo has been officially named the patron saint of cyclists in the Diocese of Bergamo: the Madonna dei Ciclisti.
In front of the Santuario there is a car park and seating.

The eastern approach lies above Lago di Éndine – the first in a series of smaller, picturesque mountain lakes to the east.
