Colle delle Finestre | 2178 METER | Susa Fenestrelle
Colle delle Finestre is a pass in the Italian region of Piedmont, more precisely in southern Piedmont. The pass is located on the well-known and popular Assietta ridge road, which runs along the border with France on the Italian side. In the south, the ascent begins via two different roads at about the same altitude as the village of Usseaux and via the village of Fenestrelle – in the north, the route ends or begins in Susa. The route is completely asphalted on the west side and on the east side in the lower section. The gravel section on the east side is winding but not steep. The surface is even throughout and easy to drive on.
The Assietta Kammstraße:
The Assietta includes 6 passes west of the Colle delle Finestre: the Colle dell'Assietta, Colle Lauson, Colle Blegier, Colle Costa Piana, Colle Bourget and finally, if you are coming from the east, the Colle Basset. The route is gravelled except for the driveway and closed from 1 November to 31 May. In the summer months of July and August, the route is not open every day. In addition, the speed is limited to 30 km/h and stopping or parking outside the designated areas is not allowed.
The gravel road does not present any major challenges for motorcyclists in dry conditions. Most of the route is flat, with only a few inclines and tight corners.
Plenty of off-road fun for beginners too.
