Colle del Preit | 2083 METER | Marmora Colle Cologna

The Colle del Preit is part of the popular off-road route between the Maira Valley in the north and the Stura Valley in the south (le strade della Gardetta). It is the first alpine pass from the direction of Marmora, coming from the north. The route crosses five alpine passes and ends with the Colle Valcavera, near the already re-asphalted alpine pass Colle dei Morti, or better known as Colle Fauniera. At 2083 metres above sea level, the alpine pass is one of the higher passes in the Alps, but it is the lowest of the five alpine passes on the Maira-Stura ridge road.

The road between Marmora and the alpine pass is partly asphalted and partly gravelled. The Maira-Stura ridge road is not open to traffic every day during the summer months. Please observe local and current driving bans. > Official information!

Tip: north of the Maira-Stura-Kammstraße, north of the villages of Marmora and Stroppo, another former military road begins, the Varaita-Stura-Kammstraße.
