Col d’Ornon | 1371 METER | Le-Bourg-d'Oisans Entraigues
The Col d'Ornon is a French Alpine pass in the Isère department of the Rhône-Alpes region. The pass road connects the village of Le Bourg-d'Oisans in the Romanche valley at an altitude of 728 metres in a north-south direction, via the village of Ornon in the north, which gives the pass its name, with the municipality of Entraigues and further on with the village of Valbonnais, which lies at an altitude of 673 metres and is the capital of the canton of the same name, Valbonnais. The pass summit lies at an altitude of 1367 metres.
The route is well maintained, unspectacular and has only a few interesting bends. It is very popular with cyclists.
Halfway up on the north side, the road branches off to the Col du Solude.
