The Col des Montets is a 1461-metre-high pass in the French Alps that connects the valley of the Arve and the main town of Chamonix with the Swiss canton of Valais. In winter, the pass is generally closed, but vehicles can use the railway tunnel, which has been equipped with a concrete road surface next to the track.
