Col de Vars | 2109 METER | Guillestre Les Gleizolles

The Col de Vars is an alpine pass in the French Alps, more precisely in the Western Alps. The pass is located on the border between the departments of Hautes-Alpes and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence in the region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. It connects the valley of the Ubaye with the Queyras valley and the town of Embrun via the mountain Parpaillon. The pass is located at an altitude of 2109 m above sea level and is open from May to October. The paved road D902 leads from Les Gleizolles and then Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye in the southeast over the pass to Vars and on to Guillestre in the northwest. The Col de Vars is part of the Route des Grandes Alpes.
The town of Vars, a ski resort, is located north of the pass.
Tip: the small restaurant at the pass. They serve fantastic galettes that will fill you up.
