Col de Valberg | 1672 METER | Guillaumes Beuil
The summit of the Col de Valberg, located in the village of the same name, is – similar to the Colle di Sestriere – better known as a winter sports resort than as a pass. It is a crossing point between Guillaumes and Beuil and thus also connects the northern sides of the popular routes through the Daluis and Cians gorges. There are two possible routes for the western side: the ‘official’ D28 pass road from Guillaumes via Les Pourchiers, and the D29 via Péone and Les Amignons, which involves a small detour but is narrower and less travelled. The route over the Col d'Espaud is also an alternative to the D28 for the eastern side.
