Col de Porte is part of a series of consecutive Alpine passes in the Chartreuse massif between Chambéry and Grenoble. The route includes the Alpine pass Col du Cucheron and the Alpine passes Col de Vence, Col du Granier, Pas de la Fosse and Col de Palaquit. The total distance between Chambéry and Grenoble is about 66 kilometres. The landscape is impressive. The Alpine pass to the north is the Col du Cucheron, and the one to the south is the Col de Palaquit. This stage is indicated as a length.
