Col de Palaquit | 1154 METER | Col de Porte Col de Vence

Col de Palaquit is the penultimate of a series of Alpine passes (from north to south) that lead through the Chartreuse massif, a pre-Alpine mountain range. All six Alpine passes are located on the route from Chambéry in the north to Grenoble in the southwest. The route is about 66 kilometres long. All Alpine passes are below 1500 metres in altitude. Nevertheless, the landscape is very beautiful and a tour through the Chartreuse massif is interesting.
It can be clearly seen in the picture that this Alpine pass in its original form has also lost its summit due to the north-south connection built later. The main road now leads down the valley. Before that, there was only the east-west connection, whose highest point was then the Col de Palaquit.
