Col de la Moutière | 2454 METER | Faux de la Restefond Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage
The Col de la Moutière is a 2,454-metre-high mountain pass in the French Maritime Alps. At the pass there is a boundary stone set in 1823, which marked the border between France and Savoy, part of the Kingdom of Sardinia-Piedmont, until 1861. The pass summit is located about three hundred metres west of the Col de la Bonette and the Cime de la Bonette, but about 350 metres lower than these. The partly unpaved route over the Col de la Moutière offers a scenic alternative to the route over the Col de la Bonette and the Col de Restefond down to Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée. The southern ramp of the Col de la Moutière leads to the village of Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage. From here, you can either take the paved southern ramp of the Col de la Bonette towards Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée or add the Col d'Anelle, which then leads parallel to it, but on a gravel road, towards Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée.
