Col d'Ayen | 1032 METER | Moustiers-Sainte-Marie La-Palud-sur-Verdon
If one judges the Col d’Ayen solely on the basis of its route, it is not exactly one of the most challenging Alpine passes. Nevertheless, it is well worth a drive; after all, it is situated in the Verdon Gorge (Gorges du Verdon). The gradients wind their way past overhanging rocks, through small gorges and on up to the upper rim of the northern Verdon Gorge. A sensational view is guaranteed here.
