Col d'Anelle | 1739 METER | Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée
The Col d'Anelle is an Alpine pass with a pure gravel or sand track. It runs not far from the French-Italian border, roughly at the height of the Maira-Stura border ridge road. The road is very demanding in places and should only be driven by those with appropriate experience and an off-road motorcycle.
The pass is not particularly high for the region, so the route runs through a lot of forested area. The pass itself is a high plateau with pastures.
In the northwest, the Col de la Moutiere connects, also mostly gravel, which in turn connects to the Col de la Bonette. A little northwest of the Col de la Bonette, the road branches off to the south and runs west, below the Col de la Bonette and the Cime de la Bonette. Thus, the passes Col de la Moutiere and Col d'Anelle run parallel to the southern ramp of the Col de la Bonette and are a ‘gravel’ alternative.
