It is not without reason that this route is one of the most popular off-road routes in the Alps. Even though it is mostly gravel, the surface is usually good. The only difficult part is the ascent to Monte Genevris, where there is a 15% incline over 1.5 km. The views are among the most beautiful in this part of the Alps.
During the holiday months of July and August, there are driving bans on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
