Logar Valley – Savinja Waterfall | Slovenia
Below the Paulitsch Pass, on the Slovenian, i.e. southern, side, Slovenia's famous Logar Valley branches off. A fantastic seven-kilometre-long valley at the end of which are the over 90-metre-high Savinja waterfalls.
You can drive up to the waterfalls, where there is a large car park and a few options for food and drink. After that, you can only continue on foot.
If you want, you can also walk up to the source of the waterfalls. Note: A toll is required to drive into Logar Valley.
Tip: Continue south along the Savinja into the green valley, which is the name of the hop-growing region of Slovenia. Incidentally, it is the fifth largest hop-growing region in the world. There are a number of small and young breweries here. But the highlight is the beer fountain in the village of Zalec. Here you can tap beer from various ‘sources’.
