Strictly speaking, the Col d’Illoire is just one of several Alpine passes in the south-western Alps that are around 1,000 metres high. And strictly speaking, most motorcyclists will never have heard of this Alpine pass. Strictly speaking! Because the Col d’Illoire is special, and that’s something you should know. It winds its way up a narrow, winding road from the village of Les-Salles-sur-Verdon to the upper edge of the gorge. Its highest point is at a 180-degree hairpin bend.
