The top 10 most beautiful Alpine passes – what are your favourites?

Choosing the most beautiful Alpine passes is no easy task – after all, you would have to have driven many of them to be able to compare them. And even then, it remains a very personal decision.
A cyclist has different criteria than a classic car enthusiast or a motorcyclist. And even among motorcyclists, opinions differ – depending on riding ability, preferences and vehicle type.

That's why we launched a big survey in April on our platforms, on social media and now here too. We want to know from you: What are the top 10 most beautiful Alpine passes?

The Alps inspire with spectacular roads and breathtaking views. But which pass is really your personal favourite? Whether winding, scenically spectacular, with the best view or perhaps not even paved – we look forward to your answers!

Here are a few highlights to inspire you:

The five highest Alpine passes are:

Col de l'Iseran

Stelvio Pass

Col Agnel

Col de la Bonette

Col du Galibier

Passes with particularly beautiful views:

Nufenen Pass (tip: viewing platform with great video)
Col d'Allos
Colle Fauniera
Col de la Lombarde
Panoramica delle Vette (a gravel mountain road)

or, although only suitable for experienced off-roaders, the ‘Alta Via del Sale’ or, in Germany, the ‘Ligurischer Grenzkamm’, with the well-known ‘Tornante della Boaria’.

Winding classics:
Stelvio Pass
Col du Chaussy
Nockalmstraße

And then, of course, there are the many smaller, often unknown passes that can be just as fascinating – such as the Col de la Confrérie or the Sella Festons.
